1/2/2024 0 Comments Bioshock infinite gameplayBooker can't carry any times that restore Salts, and there's no move/action he can take to restore them other than actually picking up Salts. My biggest complaint after finishing one play through is: I don't like how the Vigors work, as opposed to Plasmids. I posted this another thread yesterday, but it wasn't really seen, since the thread was older, so I'll repeat it here. Thanks for reading and looking forward (I think) to hearing your replies. Anyway those are just some of my opinions towards the game. It was just an annoying road block between me and what I really cared about (unraveling the amazing story). I never felt like the combat had anything to do with what I was trying to accomplish. I kind of feel like Bioshock Infinite was more of a virtual story with shooter aspects thrown in than an actual video game. To sum this up, I'm just really curious what you all thought of this game looking strictly from a gameplay perspective. ![]() Instead they throw in two or three "handymen" who are incredibly overpowered leaving you to just hope you can do enough damage before they beat the shit out of you. I mean you don't even get to fight Comstock directly, the guy who has literally sent armies to kill you. It felt like they just kept throwing more and more random soldiers at you because you need something to actually do in the game. I actually felt like the combat GOT IN THE WAY of the main story. But let's be honest, if not for the INCREDIBLE story this game would've been nothing special at all. Overall I would say it was a pretty good game. To be clear, I'm not just trying to bash the game. I also thought the vigors were just thrown in to keep the Bioshock theme when you really don't even need them. If by some incredible feat one happened to get close to me all I had to do was mash the ridiculous melee button. The majority of the game I sat back with a sniper rifle using the onslaught of mindless soldiers as target practice. ![]() I realize this was the same in the original Bioshock, but the enemies were typically much more dangerous. The guns are just stupid accurate as I was headshotting Comstock's men 100 ft away with a "hand cannon" shooting from the hip. I upgraded my rechargeable shield Halo style and hid for a few seconds whenever it depleted. In Infinite I just walked up to every lootable spamming F not even caring what I found. It actually felt rewarding to find a huge stash of ammo or first aid kits. In the first Bioshock I felt that I was constantly scrounging for ammo/eve/money because it was necessary to survive. The price of ammo was unbelievably low, and even when you run out Elizabeth manages to pull more out of her multi-dimensional ass. I used only a few different weapons the entire game because they literally shower you in ammo. The combat in my opinion was absolutely ridiculous throughout the game. However, after only a couple of hours into it I found myself struggling to push through to the end. The detail was incredible and I was sure I was in for another great gaming experience. When I entered the game for the first time the opening scene was amazing. ![]() Not to say this game didn't have its problems, but overall it was an impressive game considering it is now six years old. I was absolutely blown away at how good the game looked, how immersive the atmosphere was, and the excellent story to go with it. Just a few days before its release I played through the first Bioshock having never touched the game prior. Ok, after reading countless comments/opinions on Bioshock Infinite it has really been bugging me that it is being so highly praised.
